Head of Open Banking, RBS
Daniel joined RBS in 2014. In March 2017 he was appointed as Head of Open Banking to manage our regulatory commitments within the United Kingdom and across Europe. These programmes encompass an evolution of technology capabilities and business operating models, relationships with multiple regulatory bodies, and collaboration across the industry in establishing standards, and a transition into the emerging API ecosystem.
Daniel also provides regulatory, competitive, and strategic insight across functions and franchises. Prior to Open Banking, Daniel drove the formation of Risk Solutions, supporting Risk and Capital technology and large programme management, as well as the technology-wide Application Simplification programme. He has twenty-six years
experience at the crossroads of banking and technology while being associated with some of the worlds leading financial institutions in the United States, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
Daniel joined the bank from Barclays Capital, where he led the Enterprise Solutions organisation inclusive of Risk, Finance, Treasury, Capital, Portfolio Management, CVA Trading, and Architecture. Previous roles have included quantitative portfolio strategy, trading technology, prime services, infrastructure, global risk, and more.
Daniel majored in Business at Skidmore College, has been a featured speaker and author for industry publications, is a mentor and advisor in FinTech, holds industry registrations in areas of trading and operations, is a Six Sigma Black Belt, and a founding member of multiple industry associations.
