Independent financial services consultant
Mark Chidley is an independent financial services consultant. He has been a member of the Financial Services Consumer Panel since February 2015 and in that role takes particular interest in issues facing small businesses as consumers of financial services products.
He is also the SME Customer Representative on the Open Banking Implementation Entity Steering Group. Formerly a solicitor specialising in banking and finance, Mark originally trained in London and has worked in both UK national and UK-based international law firms.
From 2002 to 2005 he was the Director of Group Legal Services at The Royal Bank of Scotland Group in Edinburgh. Between 2009 and 2015 he was a non-executive director of North East Access to Finance Limited, a company closely involved in access to finance issues for SMEs in the north east of England.
