Barbasura, Dimitri
Salt Edge

Dmitrii is a serial entrepreneur with vast experience in financial area. He worked for a credit card processing centre building the entire infrastructure and most of the processes, as the company CTO. Dmitrii co-founded InEx Finance, Fentury Personal Finance Management apps before founding Salt Edge – one of the top FinTech Startups on the European Landscape which aims to make the data exchange between banks, lenders and fintechs as smooth as one API call.
Beardmore, David
The Open Data Institute

David leads the commercial, business development and marketing activities for the Open Data Institute.

His 20 years in data-driven insight and marketing have seen him work with many leading brands in multiple sectors and countries. In addition to working for some of the largest players in the data world such as Experian, Callcredit and Telefonica, David also ran his own boutique data insight business, Thinkdata, for 5 years before its acquisition by Bertelsmann.

The Open Data Institute has been instrumental in developing Open Banking in the UK, working with Her Majesty’s Treasury and setting up the Open Banking Working Group in September 2015 to explore how an open data infrastructure could help the UK government achieve its objectives of increased competition and consumer choice. David regularly speaks on Open Banking at conferences in the UK and internationally, has recently co-authored a report on Open Banking with PwC, and was also interviewed on BBC TV on the day it officially launched in the UK.

The ODI continues to advise on the development and implementation of open banking in other countries including Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Canada. In addition to leading on Open Banking for the ODI, David is also helping other industry sectors develop similar open data initiatives including sport, physical activity, utilities and pharmaceuticals.

Originally a classically trained musician, David has a Master’s from Cambridge University and an MBA in Marketing. Ever the optimist, he continues to hold a season ticket at Nottingham Forest Football Club.

Bhushan, Bharat

Bharat is the CTO for Banking and Financial Markets at IBM UK. He is currently working with clients globally that are either looking to simply comply with PSD2/ Open Banking in their geography and those that are going beyond compliance and creating new revenue generating business models. In his client engagements, he is utilising IBM capabilities for APIs and Integration, Security, AI and Blockchain.

Bharat is a guest lecturer at Warwick University. Bharat has an MBA from Warwick University and an MSc in Advanced Computing from King’s College London. He has 23 years of experience in the IT Industry delivering solutions.

At this event, he is looking forward to hearing views from forward-thinking leaders in the world of financial services and the art of the possible that benefit the end-user and our society as a whole.

Dickie, Robert
Chartered Banker Institute

Robert is President of the Chartered Banker Institute in the UK, a Board member at private advisory and capital management firm W.D.Scott-Global Ltd and a member of the Growth Advisory Board at private equity backed software testing company Tricentis GmbH.

Robert has 30+  years of experience in global banking and insurance and is a former Chief Technology & Operations Officer at Zurich Insurance Group in Switzerland and Chief Technology & Operations Officer at American International Group Inc. (AIG) based in New York.

Previously he was a Senior Advisor with McKinsey & Company; a member of the management board at Farmers Insurance Group Inc. (Los Angeles, CA); an Advisory Board Member at MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab – Big Data Initiative and an Advisory Board member at Unisys Corp.

Robert has an MBA from Strathclyde University Graduate Business School in Glasgow, is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce and a Fellow of the Chartered Banker Institute.

Gusev, Daniel
Gauss Ventures

Daniel Gusev is a seasoned entrepreneur in financial services innovation space, starting and chairing several successful labs and design-driven project offices in leading banks in CEE, Europe and the UK since 2009. He is a mentor with several accelerators in the UK, Hong Kong and New Zealand, reads lectures for Imperial College London Fintech Program and advises several international start-ups. 

He has also contributed in various founder and executive roles to 3 startups and had experienced the joy of 1 exit. He has also written several reports on Open Banking for several regional fintech associations. Daniel graduated from Moscow State University with a degree in History and did postgraduate studies in Banking with Financial University.

Ingledew, Stephen
FinTech Scotland

Stephen Ingledew is the Chief Executive of FinTech Scotland, the enterprise established by the Scottish Government, The University of Edinburgh and the private sector to drive economic growth in Scotland’s financial services through innovation, collaboration and inclusion.

Fintech Scotland’s ambition is to create an integrated and thriving economic environment through the provision of funding, connections, infrastructure and talent that recognises and responds to the needs of all stakeholders and connects Scotland to other global Fintech centres.

Stephen has a proven track record and reputation for implementing customer focused, technology enabled profitable initiatives in a wide range of financial services organisations. This has included senior executive roles with large institutions such as Standard Life and Barclays as well as small
innovative enterprises.

Throughout his career, Stephen has been an influential advocate of making financial services more open, creative and inclusive to all through new innovative technologies, encouraging diversity and progressive ways of working as well as improved collaboration across stakeholders and participants.

Jhanji, Kunal
Oliver Wyman

Kunal is a Principal in the Retail and Business Banking practice in Oliver Wyman’s London Office. He has 10 years of experience in consulting within the FS industry in the UK, focusing on Payments and Affluent / Wealth Management.

He is the COO of the European payments team at Oliver Wyman and is involved in thought leadership and industry events; co-author of the flagship OW European SME and Retail payments report.

He has extensive experience within the payments sector, incl. deep expertise in PSD2 and Open Banking.

Kunal was the Head of Policy for Open Banking Implementation Entity from May 2017 – April 2018.

Kunal has attended Executive Leadership and Management programmes at The Wharton School and INSEAD.

Jones, Graeme
Scottish Financial Enterprise

Graeme Jones was appointed as Chief Executive of Scottish Financial Enterprise (SFE) in January 2016.

Graeme’s role focuses strongly on working across the SFE membership to understand the industry’s diverse needs and external influences which shape the choices of its customers. Working with the membership, other industry bodies and partners, Graeme represents the needs and views of the industry to governments and regulators in Scotland, London and Brussels.

Before joining SFE, Graeme has held a number of senior posts in some of the UK’s largest financial services organisations. His most recent post was Senior Partner – Banking and Financial Services at Experian and prior to this he has held the posts of; Head of Distribution for Aviva, Head of Regulated Sales at RBS Group and Manager of Strategy and Operations at Standard Life.

Graeme is a graduate of Aberdeen University, is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a Chartered Insurer.

Milligan, Ruth

Ruth is an expert in payments systems and financial services technologies, with 12 years expertise at EU and UK level. She is a qualified UK solicitor, specialising in competition law, payments and retail financial services.

She is currently Head of Financial Services and Payments at techUK, the trade association which represents the technologies sector. She takes the lead on all issues relating to payments, open banking and PSD2, insurance, financial inclusion, digital identity and block chain, sitting on Open Banking Working groups and the Payments Strategy Forum groups. She also chairs the Open Banking Communications Forum.

Previously, Ruth worked as Legal Expert on payments for the retail sector in Brussels, advising on competition issues, the evolution of the Interchange Fee Regulation and PSD2 and representing retail on the ECB’s Euro Retail Payments Board and the SEPA Card Standardisation Group.

Ross, David

David joined TransUnion (formerly Callcredit) in February 2015 as Chief Technology Officer. In this role he has responsibility for TransUnion’s product and technology strategy, focussed on the development of data and analytic offerings alongside decision and customer experience software.

David has 21 years’ experience in advanced analytics and decision management software. Prior to joining TransUnion, David was Vice President of Product Management at FICO, leading their decision management and analytics software business.

Kevin is an innovative, curious award winning business change Strategy Director and Advisor with specialist skills in Smart (Big) Data, Analytics, Intelligence, Digital and Technology solutions.

Currently engaged as an advisor to ThoughtWorks and a number of FS brands creating, designing, building mutual value propositions. Deploying techniques, methods to create the optimal tech, people, smart data solutions enabling fast innovation across multiple brands and new entrants.

He is the owner of a company with an advisory value proposition for post PSD2, XS2A, GDPR centred on Open (Life) Banking innovation. Building new business models, harnessing the personal data economy for innovation centred on mutual value for customer and brands.

Kevin is a growth advisor, investor to start-ups and co-founder of a new financial well being proposition built on a tech platform, new market place and revolutionary business model to deliver fairer financial services.

In the past he has held senior roles largely centred on data at the heart for many sectors and world leading companies. Kevin is passionate about data and making it useful under the banner of trust, transparency and personal control.
